Similar to OpenPlant, OpenUtilities Substation users can also take advantage of equipment already placed in OpenUtilities Substation by importing it from the OpenUtilities Substation i-model.

The key difference is that a OpenUtilities Substation i-model can also contain cable information that is automatically imported into Bentley Raceway and Cable Management along with all electrical equipment, equipment IDs and terminal connection IDs. If the OpenUtilities Substation model contains cable information, then the cable import in Bentley Raceway and Cable Management is not required. The ID Manager will automatically display all source and target IDs.

A OpenUtilities Substation i-model can also be created without any cable information. In that case, the workflow is identical to the OpenPlant workflow. For detailed steps refer to the OpenPlant workflow detailed above.
